Las Catrinas | Astoria, Queens
After a late night, brunch was calling—and Mexican food felt like the obvious answer. Being in the city, that’s never hard, but Las Catrinas delivered exactly what we wanted.
Outdoor dining, a lively Astoria street scene, and plenty of people-watching set the tone. The menu leans fresh and flavorful without feeling heavy—always a win.

The Mexican street corn was a standout. No gloppy mayonnaise situation here—just well-seasoned corn finished with shaved cheese. Clean, savory, and satisfying.
The Guacamole passed Chip’s stringent test (this is one of his three signature dishes), and we each ordered a meat taco—one steak, one pork. Both were well-balanced, flavorful, and nicely executed.

Drinks were a classic his-and-hers pairing: a white sangria and a cappuccino. Each of us was genuinely happy with our choice.
So good.
